QUIC: Opportunities and threats in SATCOM

This article proposes a discussion on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to deployment of QUIC end-to-end from satellite-operator point-of-view. The is an opportunity for improving quality experience when exploiting satellite broadband accesses. Indeed, fast establishment secured connections reduces transmission time short files. Moreover, removing transport-layer performance-enhancing proxies cost network infrastructures improves integration systems. However, congestion flow controls at end points are not always suitable communications due intrinsic high bandwidth-delay product. Further acceptance in systems would be guaranteed if its performance specific use cases were increased.
